COVID-19 Update

Dear Members,

Due to unforeseen circumstances we are no longer able to offer lobby hours at this time. The lobby will remain closed to walk-in traffic until further notice. The drive thru will remain open Mon – Fri 8:30 am to 4:30pm except on Thur we will open at 7:30am. In person meetings are by appointment only.

Dear Members,

As our “dark winter” comes to an end and local positivity rates continue to decline we are moving forward with reopening our lobby for walk-in teller transactions on Mondays and Fridays (only) from 8:30am to 4:30pm beginning March 1st.

Financial Service Office visits are still by appointment only

Our lobby COVID-19 guidelines remain the same.

  • Face masks are required
  • We must maintain  6 feet of social distancing at all times

Our drive-thru remains open 8:30am-4:30pm except Thursday we will be open at 7:30.

Dear Members,

We are excited to offer some additional drive-thru hours for you starting Monday June 8th, 2020. Each weekday, except Thursday, our drive-thru will be open from 8:30am-4:30pm. On Thursday we will continue to open our drive-thru from 7:30am-4:30pm.

We are still working on a plan to reopen our lobby in phases.  We anticipate opening for several hours at a time on certain days of the week at first for teller transactions only.  We will be testing our social distancing methods and will be evaluating to see when and how much more we can expand upon these plans. If you need to see either the CEO or the Loan Officer, you will still need a scheduled appointment.

We realize that our shortened hours have been an inconvenience for you, and we are hopeful that these small changes are the positive steps we need to move toward a full reopening very soon. Thank you again for your patience.

Dear Members,

We at Rome Federal Credit Union would like to thank all of our members for remaining patient and understanding during the NY PAUSE due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  Now that a reopening plan has been implemented in phases, we hope to be able to offer more service hours in the coming weeks. Currently the drive-thru is open from 10:00AM-4:30PM every weekday except Thursday. On Thursday only, the drive-thru is open from 7:30AM-4:30PM. One of the first things we hope to do is expand those drive-thru hours and following that, open the lobby to the public, potentially for a limited number of hours. We will keep you informed of these changes as they occur on our website, our Facebook page, and at the drive-thru window. When our lobby does open you will notice many changes that have been put in place to ensure the safety of our employees and members.

– Plexiglass shields have been installed at each of the teller stations and at each office desktop.

– All employees will be wearing protective masks and will use hand sanitizer.

 – Extra cleaning measures have been implemented.

– Members are being required to wear protective masks as well.

– We will be restricting the number of members allowed in the lobby by use of markers on the floor.

– While the lobby is open, if the maximum capacity has not been reached, you may walk in and meet with a staff member regarding new accounts, loans or general issues. We encourage you to schedule an appointment if possible.

These changes may seem daunting, but we feel they are necessary steps toward getting back to what may become a new normal. The Rome Federal Credit Union reminds you that you can do much of your personal banking through our on-line banking system and that our ATM is accessible 24 hours a day.

We look forward to reverting back to a full “open for business” schedule as soon as possible.

Dear Members,

Out of an abundance of caution to the safety of our staff we will be reducing the hours that we are open at our drive thru to 10:00am to 4:30 pm Monday thru Friday. Our lobby will only be open by appointment during those hours. We will remain closed on Saturdays. This schedule will remain in effect until the NY PAUSE is over. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. We appreciate your patience as we look out for the health and well being of our staff. Please take a moment to plan your trips to the Credit Union during these challenging times.

Dear Members,

As the impact of the coronavirus is changing daily we will be closed for business on Saturday March 21st. The drive-up will reopen on Monday March 23rd at 7:30am. Thank you for patience as we navigate these changing times.

Dear Members,

At Rome Federal Credit Union, our top priority is always the safety and security of both our members and employees. Please know that credit union leadership has closely monitored the progression of the Coronavirus, as well as staying up-to-date with recommendations and best practices issued by the Center for Disease Control and our local government.

Out of an abundance of caution, and as part of our ongoing efforts to protect the health of our employees and members from the potential impacts of the coronavirus, we have decided to suspend in-person transactions.

Effective Wednesday March 18th in-person transactions will be suspended pending the results of the Coronavirus Pandemic. Our lobby will only be open by appointment for loan closings and account openings. All teller transactions are to be conducted at the drive-up. Our drive-up will remain open Monday thru Friday from 7:30am to 4:30pm (5:00 pm on Friday) and Saturdays 9:00am to 1:00pm. You can also utilize our 24 hour ATM for withdrawals / deposits. Our night drop box is located in the drive thru lane also for deposits if you can’t get to the Credit Union during business hours

The Credit Union will be available by telephone and email to assist members during regular office hours throughout this period of suspended in-person contact. All electronic access will remain live. We will do everything possible to help our members during this unprecedented time period.

We also strongly recommended that you leverage all the available Rome Federal Credit Union tools and resources for self-service banking and 24/7 account access through our online services. We proudly provide our members with banking technology that allows them to conduct transactions remotely. If you’re unfamiliar with our online banking it allows you to do the following wherever you are:

  • View account balances
  • Transfer funds
  • Pay loans
  • Access account history
  • Free Bill Pay Service (Access upon request)
  • Find the Nearest Co Op ATM
  • Apply for a Loan

For any member that does not have online banking you are able to enroll by accessing the following form (click here for form). Once signed it can be returned via email at romefcugroup1@romefcu.com or fax at 315-339-0304. Also, for those members who don’t have a Rome Federal Credit Union debit card and would like to order one you can use the same process as the online banking enrollment.
